On Tuesday, King Charles and Queen Camilla expressed their “deepest sympathy” and “prayers” for everyone impacted by “the terrible incident in Liverpool on Monday evening.”
Hours after a car crashed into a crowd of Liverpool supporters during a parade honoring their team’s Premier League soccer triumph, leaving 27 people hospitalized, the royal couple, who are now on an official visit to Canada, released a joint statement.
There were at least two major injuries. According to the police, they don’t think the incident had anything to do with terrorism.
“My wife and I are deeply shocked and saddened by to hear of the terrible events that took place in Liverpool,” said the statement.
