JEDDAH: The final Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-759 from Karachi, carrying 307 intending pilgrims, arrived at 6:55 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, successfully finishing the 33-day pre-Hajj flying operation that began on April 29.
Muhammad Umar Butt, a spokesman for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, told APP that up to 88,260 planned pilgrims traveled from different places in Pakistan to Saudi Arabia via 342 flights under the Government Hajj Scheme.
According to the spokesperson, more than 27,000 pilgrims entered the holy site via the private Hajj program.
According to him, 156 flights carried 39,717 Pakistanis to Madinah by May 27 as part of the first phase of the Hajj flying operation.
