Moscow: Russia has requested that new peace negotiations with Ukraine take place in Istanbul on Monday. However, Ukraine has stated that before agreeing to meet, it wants to see a written copy of Russia’s peace offer.
Future negotiations, according to Kyiv, must be serious and result in actual advancement rather than just further postponements.
The request for negotiations comes as there is no indication of a truce as the conflict enters its third year.
While diplomatic efforts to resolve the three-year conflict have accelerated in recent months, Moscow has not backed down from its maximalist demands and has consistently rejected calls for an unconditional ceasefire.
