India Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments regarding the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have been harshly denounced by Pakistan as unfounded and deceptive.
Foreign Office spokeswoman Shafqat Ali Khan said in a statement Friday that such remarks were an intentional attempt to divert attention away from the serious and ongoing human rights abuses occurring in a country occupied by foreigners.
“Pakistan is deeply dismayed that the Indian premier has once again chosen to accuse it of involvement in the Pahalgam attack, without presenting a single piece of credible evidence,” Khan stated.
IIOJK is still a contested region recognized globally, according to the spokeswoman, and the competent United Nations body will decide its final status.
