KARACHI: Even after more than 35 hours, the large fire that started at a plant in the Landhi Export Processing Zone early on Sunday morning was still not completely doused, officials said Monday.
Strong winds and the presence of chemicals in the business caused the fire to spread quickly, engulfing a nearby garment warehouse and a plastic production facility, according to the Fire Brigade.
According to fire department authorities, the fire was 70% contained and they were optimistic that it would soon be totally put out.
