MONTREAL: At the Canadian Swimming Trials in Victoria on Wednesday, Summer McIntosh set her own 400 medley record with a time of 4 minutes 23.65 seconds, setting her third world record in as many days.
Ahead of the World Championships in Singapore next month, the 18-year-old Canadian prodigy, who has won three Olympic gold medals, set yet another remarkable record with a commanding performance.
McIntosh’s lightning-fast pace eclipsed her previous record of 4:24.38, which she established at the Canadian Olympic trials in Toronto in May of last year.
With a world record speed in the first butterfly leg, McIntosh’s assault on her own world record got off to a nice start.
