NOTTINGHAM: In a friendly encounter at the City Ground on Tuesday, England was shocked to lose to Senegal 3-1.
With three well-taken goals, the visitors outscored the home team and gave England their first defeat under new manager Thomas Tuchel. The hosts had a difficult evening as they were unable to keep up and were jeered by the crowd when the final whistle blew.
Goals by Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Cheikh Sabaly made Senegal the first African team to defeat England in 22 games.
Senegal extended their winning record to 24 games, while England suffered their first loss in four games under new manager Thomas Tuchel. Jude Bellingham’s late goal was disallowed due to a handball in the build-up.
