As the conflict between Israel and Iran continues, the US military has increased the number of fighter aircraft it has sent to the Middle East and prolonged the deployment of other airplanes, according to three US officials.
According to one official, fighter aircraft such as the F-16, F-22, and F-35 are being deployed.
Two officials emphasized that the employment of fighter planes, which have been employed to take down projectiles and drones, is defensive in nature.
A request for comment was not immediately answered by the Pentagon.
