Chappell Roan just disclosed that criticism has begun to seem personal.
Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, the singer of Pink Pony Club, acknowledged that she used to not “give a f***” about criticism, but that changed after it was aimed at her actual self.
SZA questioned Chappell on whether she “gave a f*** about the backlash” during an interview with Interview Magazine.
Chappell admitted, “I didn’t, until people began to hate me for me and not for my art.”
“They hate me because I’m Kayleigh, not because they hate the songs that I make,” she added, when the conversation shifted away from my art. At that point, things shifted.
