According to witnesses and medical professionals, Israeli forces opened fire on crowds gathering close to an aid distribution site, killing 23 Palestinians.
According to witnesses and medical professionals, thousands of civilians were targeted by tanks and drones near a distribution center in central Gaza that is operated by the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
After a crowd formed nearby, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that forces fired warning rounds. The IDF said that “several suspects” continued to approach troops after being hit by an Israeli aircraft.
The GHF has disputed that there was a shooting close to its locations. Since late May, more than 400 Palestinians have died in similar instances, according to the health ministry operated by Hamas.
