QUETTA: In a sad development, emergency services reported on Tuesday that a passenger bus caught fire while traveling on Balochistan’s western bypass, killing at least five passengers and injuring nine more.
Searches for the missing bus driver are underway, while the injured and their remains have been moved to Quetta’s Civil Hospital, where three of the victims are in serious condition.
The government of Balochistan has expressed its sadness and grief over the tragic event and has launched an investigation.
“The government of Balochistan expresses profound sadness and regret over the fire incident [….]” Spokesman Shahid Rind stated, “We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the passengers who lost their lives in the catastrophe.
