According to local authorities in northwest Colombia, a deadly landslide caused by intense floods has killed at least ten people and injured fifteen more, as of Tuesday.
The community of Bello, which is in the Antioquia department close to Medellín, is where the tragedy took place.
The governor of Antioquia, Andrés Julián Rendón, posted updates on the social networking site X, verifying the number of people killed and injured. He also cautioned locals to leave the area because there is still a significant possibility of more landslides.
As workers sift through muck and debris in search of survivors, the governor declared, “Search and rescue operations are ongoing.” According to local accounts, the tragedy has left at least 15 individuals missing.
