ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has voiced serious concerns about the ongoing use of torture as a means of oppression in foreign-occupied territories, especially in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The Foreign Office said in a statement issued in honor of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture that the occupying powers use the most severe forms of torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment to deny the Palestinian and IIOJK people their right to self-determination.
Noting that Islam respects the sanctity and dignity of every human being and views torture as incompatible with the ideals of justice and compassion, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to ending torture and preserving human dignity.
