The Supreme Court’s decision on reserved seats was rejected by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday, claiming that it was “unjust and a misinterpretation of the Constitution.”
In a significant blow to the PTI, the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench granted review petitions and declared that the party founded by Imran Khan was not eligible for seats in the national and provincial assemblies designated for women and minorities.
A 10-member court led by Justice Aminuddin Khan rendered the decision.
Speaking to News following the ruling, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed disappointment over the top court’s ruling and said: “We are deeply disappointed… The Constitution has been incorrectly construed, and the ruling is unjust to PTI.
