ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), urged Pakistan’s Chief Justice Yahya Afridi to guarantee the administration of justice on Saturday, cautioning that if the Constitution is not upheld, the nation may descend into anarchy.
Gohar lamented the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on reserved seats at a press conference with senior PTI leader Shibli Faraz, stating that “injustice today is worse than it was in the 1990s.”
The ruling, which was rendered by a majority of seven judges, replaces the majority ruling of eight justices on July 12, 2024, which had ruled that the PTI was entitled to reserved seats in the assembly for women and non-Muslims.
