As reported by The Wire, an Indian defense officer has acknowledged for the first time that Pakistan shot down Indian jets in a significant aerial battle, attributing the losses on “political constraints” imposed by India’s own leadership rather than military incompetence.
Speaking at a conference in Jakarta, Indonesia, Indian Navy Captain Shiv Kumar said that the biggest dogfight since World War II, which took place on May 7, 2025, saw the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shoot down Indian jets.
According to The Wire, Kumar said during the presentation, “I do agree we did lose some aircraft.”
According to a statement from the Indian embassy in the capital of Indonesia.
