The passing of paranormal investigator Dan Rivera has brought the Annabelle doll back into the public eye.
During the three-show weekend “Devils on the Run” tour, which included the Raggedy Ann-style doll that many people think is demonically possessed, Rivera, 43, was discovered unconscious in his hotel room.
Annabelle continues to be a mainstay of paranormal mythology despite the lack of scientific evidence.
Despite being made popular by the Conjuring universe in Hollywood, the genuine Annabelle has a very distinct appearance and demeanor.
Instead of the porcelain-faced character from movies, the real doll is a huge Raggedy Ann. In 1970, Annabelle was haunted by a malevolent spirit who frightened a nursing student called Donna, according to the late paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
