Although there is still some light drizzle in some areas of the city, the torrential rain that had been falling for almost 16 hours has finally ended in Rawalpindi.
The risk of flooding has decreased in Nullah Lai as the water level has started to drop.
Five people who were stranded in floodwaters in the Morgah area were safely rescued, according to the Rescue Department. The people sought shelter on their rooftop after rainwater infiltrated their house, according to District Emergency Officer Sabgatullah.
The water level at Gawalmandi is 16.5 feet, but at Katarian, it has fallen to 13 feet in Nullah Lai. Gawalmandi is still on an alert, and Katarian is under a pre-alert.
As a precaution, authorities have urged those living close to Gawalmandi to move to safer areas.
