Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister, will visit Kabul today for a full day in order to sign the Framework Agreement on Joint Feasibility Study for the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (UAP) Railway Project.
A high-level team that includes the Secretary of the Ministry of Railways, the Special Representative for Afghanistan, and the Minister of Railways will accompany the Deputy Prime Minister.
In order to provide Central Asian states with easier access to Pakistani seaports, the UAP Railway Project seeks to build a rail link between Uzbekistan and Pakistan via Afghanistan. According to a press statement from the Foreign Office, the project is anticipated to support regional stability, growth, and development by facilitating regional trade and transportation.
