On Thursday, Jhelum’s floodwaters left at least 300 people stranded, including a six-person police squad.
Due to the rapid water flow, the police officers, including the Chautala police station’s SHO, were stuck for several hours while sitting in a tractor trolley to save their lives. One Constable, though, was carried away in the water.
The floodwaters were so strong that rescue crews had a very hard time getting the police officers out.
