Three women were hurt Wednesday when a remote-controlled bomb concealed in a motorcycle triggered a loud explosion in Quetta’s Hazarganji neighborhood.
Police officials claim that a remote-control gadget was used to detonate an improvised explosive device (IED) that weighed between one and one-and-a-half kg.
Security personnel and a large police presence quickly responded at the scene and cordoned off the area after the blast, which caused fear in the vicinity. While the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) conducted a search to rule out the possibility of any such threats, forensic teams started gathering evidence.
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials, who are in charge of the incident’s investigation, also arrived at the scene.
