The Foreign Office has stated that it has no official knowledge about a potential visit by US President Donald Trump to Pakistan, despite social media rumors to the contrary.
In a statement to British news agency Reuters, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan denied the rumors, saying, “There is no information about the US President’s visit to Pakistan.”
The statement follows a flurry of rumors on social media that the US president might travel to Pakistan on September 18 as part of his purported South Asian tour. No reliable source has, however, verified any such plans.
In the meantime, Donald Trump is expected to travel to the UK from September 17 to 19, according to US and British media agencies.
