The Congo virus was identified in a 33-year-old male in Karachi who was taken to Jinnah Hospital after exhibiting symptoms similar to Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), such as high-grade fever, bleeding, and semi-consciousness.
Following a battery of testing and medical examinations, physicians and specialists at Jinnah Hospital in Karachi have verified the virus’s existence.
Following this case, there have now been three Congo virus or CCHF infections in Karachi this year.
The patient, who works as a barber, is from Bhains Colony in Karachi.
