On Thursday, the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) expressed disapproval of the recent decisions made by the federal government and warned to go on indefinite strike if their demands were not fulfilled.
Sheikh Umar Rehan, the president of the Association, told reporters that he disagreed with the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) decision to send officers to ghee mills.
According to Umar Sheikh, the decision has put the industry under a great deal of strain and made the business community fearful.
Along with criticizing the demand for digital invoicing and Section 37A of the Sales Tax Act, he claimed that the industry could not tolerate the necessary transactions of more than Rs2 lakh through banks.
