KARACHI: By announcing the hiring of Jorge Castañeira as assistant coach and Nolberto Solano as head coach for Pakistan’s senior and under-23 national teams, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has made a significant advancement.
“Under President Mohsen Gilani’s leadership, PFF proudly welcomes Nolberto Solano as Head Coach of Pakistan U23 with a pathway to the senior team,” stated PFF in a brief statement.
Following a vote by the PFF Executive Committee, in which seven of the thirteen members approved the appointments, the decision was finalized. Six committee members disagreed with the decision, despite the fact that it represents a new direction for Pakistani football.
