A resolution sponsored by Pakistan and urging member states to take action to effectively implement the 15-member body’s resolutions for the peaceful settlement of disputes, including those involving Kashmir and Palestine, was unanimously adopted by the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
At a meeting called under the agenda item “Maintenance of international peace and security,” the Council took action on the resolution.
One of the two signature events suggested by Pakistan during its presidency of the world body’s power center, the resolution called for strengthened collective efforts to address the alarming trends of long-running, unresolved disputes endangering international peace and security.
