On Friday, Karachi firefighters put in endless effort to put out two distinct factory fires in the Landhi Export Processing Zone, one of which was still burning in pieces of a structure that had fallen.
According to officials, it might take a few more hours for the impacted factories to cool.
The first manufacturing fire is still burning.
Lubna Fazal, the in-charge of Rescue 1122, reports that the initial fire started yesterday and is still burning in some parts of the collapsed building. Firefighting has been challenging due to flames in the plastic granules and old textile bundles buried beneath the rubble.
According to her, the cooling process might take a another 10 to 15 hours, and firemen are having trouble reaching some hotspots because of the debris from the fall.
