The Home Office has announced that a £31 million package, which includes a specific police contact for elected politicians to communicate with regarding safety matters, will strengthen security measures for MPs.

“The government will take every possible step to safeguard the people, processes, and institutions upon which our democracy depends,” Mr. Cleverly said, announcing the new funds.
“I take the safety and security of each and every House member very seriously.
“It should not be necessary for any of us to accept that dealing with harassment, threats, or hate crimes is a part of our jobs.
