Police will employ drones to assess incidents like traffic crashes as part of Treasury reforms, while artificial intelligence will be used to reduce MRI scan times by a third.
“We shouldn’t fall into the trap of thinking more spending buys us better public services,” the chancellor stated in a statement.
“We want public employees to return to their primary responsibilities of teaching our children, ensuring our safety, and tending to our medical needs because there is much too much waste in the system.
“That’s why our plan is about reaping the rewards of productivity, from faster access to MRIs for patients to hundreds of thousands of police hours freed up to attend burglaries or incidents of domestic abuse.”
