At every stage of her treatment, the singer resorted to music after receiving a cancer diagnosis at the age of 26.
Her skull is bare after rounds of chemotherapy, and she is shown singing brave songs in a image from the final day of treatment while sporting a hospital bracelet and a Stand Up To Cancer t-shirt.
She also recorded a vocal pack during that time, which consists of 40 memorable dance hooks, or toplines, that were knocked out in under two hours.
The sample label 91Vocals released that pack on Splice, an online resource for DJs and producers to obtain royalty-free samples. After receiving roughly £75 for the pack, Abi didn’t give it any thought.
Her voice was “everywhere” all of a sudden after four years, during which she defied medical predictions, was certified cancer-free, and became pregnant despite being told she was infertile.
