Head of news and current affairs at news Scotland Gary Smith paid homage to him upon his passing, describing him as “wonderful” and “incredibly talented.”
“We’re devastated to hear news of our colleague and friend, Nick Sheridan, passing away,” he wrote on news .
“Nick has been an excellent teammate. He was an extraordinarily gifted writer, journalist, and broadcaster. He was also one of those unique individuals who make the lives of those around them brighter.
“Cute, intelligent, and gentle. A beautiful dude.
“Our hearts go out to his parents, to his partner and to all his family and friends.”
As he began his weekly question period in the Scottish Parliament chamber, First Minister Humza Yousaf paid tribute to Sheridan, calling him a “very gifted writer and journalist.”
