One of the seventeen aircraft that crossed the Atlantic was kept in the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in Manhattan following the retirement of the supersonic flights in 2003.
According to the museum, it was removed for restoration in August of last year, during which the paint coating, sanding, and recoating of the aircraft were done “using the same colors and markings that made Concorde a true aviation legend.”
The renovated aircraft was transported down the Hudson to Weeks Marine in New Jersey aboard a barge on Wednesday.
The Concorde will complete the remaining leg of its voyage back to the museum later on Thursday. It should arrive at roughly 9.30 a.m.
