Prior to the yearly St. Patrick’s Day reception at the White House, she told News that America had made a “dangerously wrong” decision about the Israel-Hamas conflict.
She called for US President Joe Biden to “take a firm position” with Israel and demand an immediate ceasefire, citing the “ongoing, vicious, criminal bombardment of Gaza”.
“The world watches with utter horror; we’ve reached a tipping point, and the United States must now make important decisions,” the speaker declared.
“We arrive here as friends and as individuals who have benefited greatly from strong backing for our peace.
Regarding the matter, the head of Sinn Fein, who aspires to be Ireland’s next Taoiseach (prime minister), turned down calls for a boycott of the White House.
She claimed to have raised concerns about the Middle East during the week while visiting Washington and New York, utilizing Ireland’s “unparalleled” influence.
