Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized on Wednesday that Pakistan will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism in the aftermath of the Mir Ali incident in North Waziristan, which killed seven army soldiers.
“If the soil of a neighboring country is used for terrorism, it will not be acceptable,” the prime minister said at the federal cabinet meeting, which was broadcast on state-run television.
Following the March 16 attack, Pakistani military conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Afghanistan’s border regions against militants launching strikes in Pakistan from Afghan land.
At least seven Pakistan Army personnel were killed in the Mir Ali attack, including a lieutenant colonel and captain, after they bravely engaged terrorists who were attacking a security forces station.
Paying tribute to the heroes who fought against terrorists, the Prime Minister stated that Pakistan Army personnel’ passion for their country is invaluable.
“We want to live in a peaceful environment with our neighbouring countries, and we want brotherly relations and trade with them,” stated the Prime Minister, encouraging the countries to join forces to combat terrorism.
PM Shehbaz stated that he hopes the rulers of neighboring nations will unite and make the region peaceful. “The brotherly countries should work together to put an end to terrorism,” he emphasized.
