ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has indicated that the latest International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme will likely be extended for another three years.
“A new tranche of loan is likely to be received from the IMF in a few days, but we would need another programme,” he said during a session of the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) apex committee attended by civil-military authorities on Thursday.
The premier stated that the civil-military leadership, including elected parliamentarians from various political parties, sent a strong message of solidarity for the country’s progress and prosperity by attending today’s session.
He went on to say that the last coalition government, which was made up of 13 political groups, opted to put the country first over politics.
