Judge Shakeel Ahmed of the Appellate Tribunal, which met in the Peshawar High Court to hear Saeed’s appeal, rendered the ruling.
After the discussions, Saeed’s appeal was granted by the tribunal, enabling him to run for the Senate.
Following the successful appeal of former senator Azam Khan Swati, which also guaranteed his eligibility for the Senate election on a general seat, this decision was made.
After being deemed ineligible by the Returning Officers (ROs), Swati and Saeed attempted to contest their disqualification by going through the Appellate Tribunal.
The tribunal rejected challenges challenging the validity of nomination papers for candidates Dilawar Khan, Rubina Khalid, Fida Muhammad, and Azhar Mashwani in addition to ruling in favor of the former federal minister.
