As part of a management reorganization, the business announced that Dave Calhoun, the CEO for just over four years, intended to step down by the end of the year.
Since then, Boeing has faced stringent production limitations from US aviation authorities in an attempt to restore public trust in the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
Chief financial officer Brian West stated this week, “For years, we prioritized the movement of the airplane through the factory over getting it done right, and that’s got to change.”
In response to the company’s announcement, Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, who had previously criticized Boeing’s quality control, said: “We welcome these much-needed management changes in Seattle.”
“We are excited to collaborate with Stephanie Pope in order to expedite the delivery of B737 aircraft to clients, like as Ryanair in Europe, during the summer and fall of 2024.
