In Sydney on February 27, Ben McDonald told the police that Scott Swift had hit him in the face.
After the 72-year-old and his megastar daughter exited a yacht after the last show of her Australian Eras Tour, there is believed to have been an altercation.
At the time, a popstar agent claimed that journalists had behaved “aggressively” toward her during the conversation.
At the time, Mr. McDonald, 51, called the incident a “punch in the chops” that “didn’t require medical assistance”.
New South Wales Police have confirmed that no further action would be taken after an inquiry.
The force released a statement in which it stated: “North Shore Police Area Command officers have investigated after receiving an allegation of an assault at Neutral Bay Wharf on Tuesday, February 27, at around 2.30 a.m.
“No further police action.”
The 34-year-old celebrity kicked off The Eras Tour’s overseas leg with four nights of performances in Sydney.
The tour, which will make its way to Europe in May, has the biggest income of all time and was the first to reach $1 billion (£792 million) in sales.
