Tyler Bevins, better known by his stage moniker Ninja, became well-known for his live streaming of millions of Fortnite players.
His hair is dyed blue, making him one of the most well-known and successful personalities in the video game streaming industry on sites like Twitch and YouTube.
However, the 32-year-old recently announced to his 19 million followers on social media that a mole that was removed from his foot turned out to be malignant.
He stated he was “still in a bit of shock” and is now advising others to get routine checkups as well.
“I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they removed a larger area surrounding the melanoma and biopsied it in the hopes that we will be able to clearly see non-melanoma edges under a microscope and know we have it.”
“I’m grateful to have hope of finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups.”
