Sergio Azzolari, the chief executive, posted on Instagram, saying, “The Roberto Cavalli company shares condolences with Mr. Cavalli’s family loss.”
Italian news agency ANSA said that Cavalli, who established his label in the early 1970s, passed away at his Florence residence.
It also stated that he had been unwell for a while and that things had gotten much worse in the last few days.
Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift were among the celebrities who donned Cavalli’s animal-print outfits.
He was photographed with Jennifer Lopez in 2010 when she walked the red carpet at the World Music Awards wearing one of his leopard print outfits.
