In a recent video, the rising star of acting disclosed that her older brother had confided in her that he is afraid to express himself freely on social media because “things get picked up negatively.”
She continued by saying that first, she “was like, ‘Who cares?'” She said, “And then, I really started thinking about it, and I realized that, you know, people really do care.”
The actress, 44, went on to say that “it’s not nice when people take something out of context, or they look at something you’re doing and they get all negative about it and they poke at it and they scrutinize it and they criticize it.”
Giving advice on how to handle online critics, she said that being a celebrity “kind of has to get used to it.”Then you begin to understand that many of those individuals are fictitious. The Almost Famous actress said, “Like, you go, ‘Wow, who’s this person being so mean to me on here?'”
And you’re like, ‘Oh, s***, it’s a [false account],’ when you go on there and see that they have no posts and no followers. Either it’s a nonexistent person or it’s a troll. or someone is genuinely attempting to harm your reputation or make you feel horrible,” she continued.
