An imam from the Dearborn area approached a nearby demonstrator, shouting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” directly at a recent event.
“I am absolutely against saying ‘Death to America,'” It was Imam Muhammad Ali Elahi who provided the news. “I know in certain countries they may say these things, but I am personally against it even when they say this in any country; it doesn’t matter where you say it, because it doesn’t help.”
Elahi, the imam of the neighboring Islamic House of Wisdom mosque, made his statement soon after a speaker at a contentious demonstration in nearby Dearborn on the final Friday of Ramadan led the audience in cries of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.” An image recording of the event.
