The US is still seeing a wave of student anti-Israel demonstrations, with nearly 550 arrests.

Protests by students protesting Israel's war in Gaza have spread around the United States in the wake of the arrest of over 100 activists at Columbia University last week.

A count by news agency Reuters shows that there have been about 550 arrests at major US campuses in relation to protests in the last week.

Students demand that colleges sever links with organizations that support Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and, in certain situations, with Israel itself.

While some colleges appear to be biding their time as the academic semester approaches its last days, others have called in the police to put an end to the rallies, leading to altercations and arrests.
Following 93 arrests at the Los Angeles campus, the University of Southern California canceled its primary graduation ceremony scheduled on May 10.
