The renowned singer and actress Streisand responded in the comment section below: “Give him my regards, did you take Ozempic?”
The medication is not approved for use as a weight-loss aid in the US or the UK and can only be supplied to patients with type 2 diabetes.
After receiving anger online, Streisand quickly removed her original comment on news, where she had apologized.
Hours after the apology, McCarthy appeared in a brief image posted to Instagram.
The footage was shot on Tuesday at the Los Angeles premiere of the new Netflix film Unfrosted. McCarthy was holding up a magazine with Streisand on the cover.
