She lived with breast cancer for 15 years after receiving a diagnosis at the age of 23, during which she actively promoted breast cancer awareness.
“She hasn’t lost a battle, she wasn’t in a fight, and she certainly wouldn’t want you to see her death as tragic,” read a statement on the charity’s website.
“She was just existing. She passed away at the age of 38 with a loving heart and a fulfilled life.”
When Ms. Hallenga’s breast cancer was discovered in 2009, it was already deadly.
