With a smile on his face, Taylor rode out on his push bike, the dirt crunching beneath his wheels. The three-and-a-half-year-old was on her way to play with friends who reside at the end of their peaceful cul-de-sac in North Idaho, a few homes down.
“He can ride his bike and get around so safely,” his mother Ashley Manning remarked. “Everybody just watches out for him.”
She continued, “It’s been the best experience.”
She finds it impossible to see this situation occurring in their former Portland, Oregon area.
In 2021, Manning moved to the east with her husband Nick Kostenborder and their 9-month-old son Taylor. Families from San Diego and Seattle also made their way to their route near Sandpoint the same year.
