An independent committee determined that the Toffees had violated the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) by £16.6 million during the three-year period leading up to 2022–2023; as a result, the team was punished two points.
The appeal was scheduled for next week, and the decision was expected to be made before Arsenal’s season-ending match on May 19.
In February, the Toffees’ 10-point deduction for violations throughout the three-year period ending in 2021–2022 was lowered to six points on appeal.
A string of victories at home against Brentford, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest last month guaranteed Everton’s place in the Premier League.
On Saturday at 15:00, they play their season’s last home game at Goodison Park against Sheffield United.
