Georgia’s contentious “foreign agent” law, which has prompted weeks of large-scale street protests, is poised to receive final approval from the legislature.
The bill, dubbed the “Russia law” by opponents of the ruling Georgian Dream party, is allegedly intended to stifle criticism.
They foresee a resumption of the sit-in outside parliament and demand that the government abandon the plans.
It is anticipated that the vote will begin at 12:00 (08:00 GMT).
Irakli Kobakhidze, the prime minister of the nation, has sworn that the measure will pass.
In addition, Mr. Kobakhidze issued a warning on Monday, stating without explanation that Georgia would “easily share the fate of Ukraine” and lose its sovereignty if the authorities gave in to pressure during the bill’s third reading.
