Following the viral video of a senior superintendent of police (SSP) on Sunday appearing to be serving tea to political leaders, Sindh Police initiated action.
Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon of Sindh described the officer’s action as “very wrong” and said he will be asked to provide a written explanation.
IG Memon went on to say that he would still have to respond, even though the Sindh SSP’s behavior was a singular act.
In the now-viral video, a senior police officer is seen pouring tea to sitting political figures during what appears to be a ceremony. Saeed Ghani, the leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and a minister from Sindh, was also shown seated in the footage.
