During an informal media briefing during a luncheon sponsored by prominent Pakistani-American community leader Dr. Rao Kamran Ali at his Dallas home, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, stated that Washington is not pressuring Islamabad to recognize Israel.
The ambassador addressed the audience on a variety of domestic and global topics while restating that Pakistan’s stance on Israel is unaltered and stems from the founding principles of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Ambassador Sheikh stated, “Our policy towards Israel is consistent with Quaid-e-Azam’s ideology.” He also noted that Pakistan’s stance on the matter is founded on long-standing values and is unaffected by outside pressure.
